The 1st Konko International Celebration

The first Konko International Celebration was held on November 14 and 15, 2015, to celebrate the foundation of Konko Faith, with followers from many parts of the world participating. With the theme, “Back to the Day: Inspiring the future” the mission for the event was to convey and feel he spirituality of Goreichi (Sacred Ground), to confirm the Konko faith as the foundation of our lives, and to deepen Faith and relationships of all who attended.

Sacred Feast for Konko followers held

2015/10/27

After the Ikigami Konko Daijin Grand Ceremony was held at the Konko North Wing, the Sacred Feast for Konko followers was held with more that 150 participants in attendance.  The Feast was preceded by a lecture by Reverend Motonobu Sato.  Attendees enjoyed curry and rice made from Osagari (cleared sacred offerings), and received virtue from the Grand Ceremony.

The Ikigami Konko Daijin Grand Ceremony of 2015 was held on October 4, 7, and 10. Over the three days, many believers gathered from all over Japan, and the world to honor Konko Daijin.

Children's Summer Festival held

On July 18, 5:30-8:00 pm., our Children's Summer Festival was held at the Sacred Grounds of the Konkokyo Headquarters.
Youth who attended enjoyed sumo wrestling and several other festival games, such as "fishing" for small plastic balls floating in a tub of water, using plastic paddles with a thin, rice-paper center that is easy to tear; as well as stacking a single row of cans as high as possible, and the ever-popular bingo.

Many worshippers came to worship in Konko Town on New Year’s Day of 2015.


In the Precincts of Headquarters, Zenzai (sweet red-bean soup with pieces of rice cake) and Omiki (sacred sake) were served.
And at 10 a.m. on January 2, Kibi-Asobi (Konkokyo Sacred Music Performance and Sacred Dance) were given.
