The entrance ceremony for incoming Konkokyo seminary students was held on May 15, at the Konkokyo seminary worship hall. The class of 42 students (25 male and 17 female) are beginning their year long course of study.

The Lancaster Church Has Been Established!

On September 28, 2011, the Konko Church of Lancaster was established, receiving official approval from Spiritual Leader of Konkokyo. The opening ceremony will be celebrated on July 29, 2012.

Konkokyo Kyoten Gorikai I Addendum Published

This book is an English translation of the Konkokyo Kyoten Tsuiho, published by Konkokyo Headquarters in 2004.
Kyoten is the Sacred Scriputure of Konkokyo. Kyoten Gorikai I is a collection of teachings passed down in writing or dictated by believers who heard the teachings directly from Konko Daijin, the founder of Konkokyo. The original text of this addendum was from twelve believers, discovered after the Konkokyo Kyoten was published in Japanese in 1983.

Konkokyo Headquarters held an annual meeting for ministers' children from August 15 to 20. Usually held at Konkokyo Headquarters, this year's meeting was held in the Philippines. There, the children participated in a study tour, which was designed to give them firsthand experience in seeing how people are suffering in the world. Seventeen-year-old Nozomu Yamada, a student of Konko Gakuen High School* played the Bitchu-Kagura, (the sacred music and dance performed during festive events at Japanese shrines) at the Rain Forest Station in Kuranda of Cairns during a school excursion.

Massive Earthquake and Tsunami Hit Japan

On March 11 at 2:46pm JST a massive 9.0-magnitude earthquake occurred near the northeastern coast of Japan, creating extremely destructive tsunami waves which hit Japan just minutes after the earthquake.
