3月11日に東日本を襲った大地震および大津波の影響で亡くなられた方々に心よりの哀悼の意を表し、被災された地域の復興と皆様の立ちゆきをお祈りいたします。

　金光教本部は、3月12日、「東北地方太平洋沖地震」金光教災害対策本部（本部長・佐藤光俊）を開設し、各地の教務センターと連絡を取りながら、東日本各地の教会、信奉者の安否情報収集を進めております。本部から現地派遣チームが出発し、東北教区の各教会を訪ね、被害状況を調査しています。また、金光教本部とKonkokyo Churches of North America(KCNA)は、義捐金の募集を始めました。
　現段階での情報によると、被災した地域の教会の教師、家族には被害はありませんが、信奉者の人的被害状況は、現在調査中です。また、多くの教会建物は無事ですが、いくつかの教会建物は損壊したという報告を受けております。

We would like to express our deepest condolences to the victims who passed away because of the Tohoku Area Pacific Coast earthquake on March 11th and pray for the quick reconstruction of the area and recovering of those suffering.

The Konkokyo Headquarters has organized a Tohoku Area Pacific Earthquake emergency center headquarter (director Rev. Mitsutoshi Sato) due to Tohoku Area Pacific Coast Earthquake. We are trying to communicate with each centre and gather safety information on churches and believers in Tohoku area.special teams are dispatched from Headquarters to visit churches in Tohoku area and is currently evaluating the level of damage.
According to the information so far, there are not any damages to ministers and families of affected churches, however, they are still in the middle of checking the situation of the believers in the surrounding area.
Most of the church buildings are safe but some of them have suffered serious damages.

Also, Konkokyo Head Administrative Office and Konko Churches of North America (KCNA) have commenced collecting Donations.
