The current spiritual leader of Konkokyo is the Reverend Heiki Konko (pictured).
Born in 1934, Konko Heiki was educated at Waseda University in
Tokyo. He became spiritual leader in 1991 when the preceding
spiritual leader, the Reverend Kagamitaro Konko, passed away.
The Reverend Heiki Konko is Konkokyo's fifth-generation head.
He is the great-great grandson of the Founder Konko Daijin.
He has been working to unify our Faith, our Groups, and our Activities.
He has also been performing
Toritsugi Mediation within the Central Worship Hall, a rite that has been practiced, and handed
down from our Founder, Konko Daijin, in order to conserve the
lineage of the Konko faith. He dedicates himself to praying world
peace and welfare of humanity everyday.
The spiritual leader is elected through ballots cast by head
ministers of Konkokyo churches. Once elected, the spiritual leader
serves for a renewable term of five years. The spiritual leader
is Konkokyo's highest religious authority and is normally addressed
as "Konko-Sama."

The Spritual Leader serves at the Central Worship Hall from 3:50 a.m.
to 4:40 p.m. every day, 365 days a year. Anyone can go and talk
to him in the Central Worship Hall where he sits and accepts
visitors' requests and prayers individually. Since he is fluent
in English, you can also talk to him in English.
